Driver dead after crash on Highway 401 near Highway 427

A driver is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 401 near Highway 427 on Thursday, Ontario Provincial Police say.

The crash happened on Highway401 westbound west of Renford Drive at about 8:25 p.m., say police.

The westbound collectors and express lanes are closed at Highway 427 and traffic was being diverted.

Police have not released the person's age or sex. There's no word yet on the cause of the crash.

Roads were expected to be closed for a few hours.
