Film shot in northern Ontario to screen during Cinfest's North Bay Day

A northern Ontario-shot science fiction film called All the Lost Ones is set to make its world premiere at the Cinfest Sudbury International Film Festival as part of a special North Bay Day event.

The screenwriter, a producer and an associate producer are all from the northern Ontario region

A northern Ontario-shot science fictionfilm called All the Lost Ones is set to make its world premiere at the Cinfest Sudbury International Film Festival as part of a special North Bay Dayevent.

The project holds a special connection to northern Ontario as Yas Taalat, is one of the producers, and screenwriterCheryl Meyer,along with associate producer, Cliff Skelliter all come from the region.

"This is the type of movie you think about for weeks," saidSkelliter."It's about relatable people surviving in courageous ways."

All the Lost Ones is a gripping story that explores the aftermath of a fictional North American war, driven by the devastating effects of climate change, and the harrowing experiences of civilians caught in the middle. The film works to captureboth the emotional and environmental issues stemming from a world in turmoil.

"In the backdrop of environmental collapse, this film explores how we reclaim a future that feels increasingly out of reach," saidthe film's director, Mackenzie Donaldson.

Led by actors Jasmine Mathews and Douglas Smith, the film features a lineup of Canadian stars including Sheila McCarthy (Women Talking), Devon Sawa (Chucky), Vinessa Antoine (Plan B), and Lochlyn Munro (Riverdale).

Taalat, Meyer, Skelliter and the rest of the team are pleased tofeature northern Ontario inthe story asthey shot thefilmthroughout the area. They are especially honoured to haveAll the Lost Onespremiere as part of Cinfest's celebration of northern Ontario talent and creativity.

"I'm so proud to be back in the city that molded me to share a great cinematic story," saidTaalat.

All the Lost Oneswill be screenedat 4 p.m. at Silver City Sudburyduring North Bay Day on Sept. 19.
