Police investigating after man found dead in restaurant parking lot

Calgary police are investigating what they call a suspicious death after finding the body of a man in his early 30s in a restaurant parking lot on Friday night.

Calgary police are investigating what they call a suspicious death after finding the body of a man in his early 30s in a restaurant parking lot on Friday night.

In a release, police said they were called at approximately 11:20 p.m. to the parking lot of the Mazaj Lounge and Restaurant, located at 9223 Macleod Trail S.W., to reports of a man in medical distress.

When EMS arrived, the man was pronounced dead.

The case was then referred to the Calgary police's homicide unit due to the "suspicious nature of the death."

No additional details were immediately available.

An autopsy is scheduled on Feb. 22, at which point more information will be released, police said in the release.
